Arizona State Credit Union's Shred-a-Thon Makes Final Stop in Flagstaff

Flagstaff community members get second chance to shred sensitive documents

PHOENIX, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union begins the second half of its 2013 Shred-a-Thon tour with the Flagstaff community members having a second and final opportunity to shred their sensitive documents.

Members of this northern Arizona community are encouraged to bring their documents to the Credit Union’s Flagstaff Highway 89 branch on Tuesday, July 9. The event will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The events are free for all community members and help raise awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to help protect against identity theft.

“These Shred-a-Thons are just one of the many opportunities Arizona State Credit Union takes part in to support the local communities we serve,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “We are dedicated to supporting our local communities through events, such as these, as we remain committed to Arizona’s sustainable growth as its 100 percent local financial cooperative.”

At the Credit Union’s June shred event in Flagstaff, residents brought more than 6,400 pounds of documents to be shredded and recycled. This equates to saving more than 42 trees.

Important documents to bring to the Shred-a-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Members and non-members can also receive $150 when they open a qualifying checking account. Visit for additional details.

Shred-a-Thons will be hosted at northern Arizona Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are free and open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. Below is a complete list of remaining branches and dates:
