Arizona State Credit Union Brings Shred-a-Thon to Payson
Payson community members have an opportunity to shred sensitive documents
PHOENIX, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union invites you to the Credit Union’s Payson branch during the last leg of the 2013 shred event. This will provide an opportunity for residents of the Payson community to shred their sensitive documents free of charge.
The Credit Union’s Payson branch is the sixth of eight stops on the Shred-a-Thon tour. Community members are encouraged to bring their sensitive documents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6. This event helps raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding personal information to protect against identity theft and fraudulent schemes.
“It is an honor to be able to provide this service to the local publics we serve,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “The goal of these Shred-a-Thons is to assist our community members with safely destroying their sensitive documents. We are happy to support green initiatives throughout the state of Arizona as a part of our 100 percent local financial cooperative business model.”
These events support statewide sustainability efforts. Members who attended the July shred event in Flagstaff shredded and recycled more than 3,950 pounds of documents. This equates to saving more than 26 trees.
Important documents to bring to the Shred-a-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Members and non-members can also receive $150 when they open a qualifying checking account. Visit azstcu.org/shred for additional details.
Shred-a-Thons will be hosted at Northern Arizona Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are free and open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. Below is a complete list of branches and dates:
