Arizona State Credit Union Brings Shred-a-Thon to Cottonwood

Last stop on the Shred-a-Thon trail to safely dispose of sensitive documents

PHOENIX, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union invites you to its final Shred-a-Thon event at the Cottonwood branch. This event provides an opportunity for residents of the Cottonwood community to dispose of any personal information in the safest way possible.

The Credit Union’s Cottonwood branch is the eighth and final stop on the Shred-a-Thon tour. Community members are encouraged to bring their sensitive documents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8. The shred event promotes awareness about the importance of properly disposing of sensitive information to safeguard against identity theft and fraudulent schemes.

“We have been holding shred events at our branches throughout the state for the last four years,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “While the Cottonwood branch will see the end of our shred events for the year, we are happy to be able to provide this service to the community annually because we are committed to helping residents safeguard their financial security.”

During the Credit Union’s most recent shred event in Payson, residents brought 11,245 pounds of documents to be shredded and recycled. This equates to saving 225 trees.

Important documents to bring to the Shred-a-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Members and non-members can also receive $150 when they open a qualifying checking account. Visit azstcu.org/shred for additional details.
