Arizona State Credit Union's Shred-A-Thon Comes to Prescott
Credit Union encourages community members to recycle documents and protect against identity theft
Phoenix, Ariz. -Arizona State Credit Union's Shred-A-Thon will stop in Prescott on May 10 for its second of seven stops on a tour throughout the Credit Union's Northern Arizona branches. This free event helps members of the community by raising awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.
The Credit Union hosted the first Shred-A-Thon event of 2011 at its Cottonwood branch on April 12. Community members brought 6,360 pounds of document to be shredded and recycled, which is the equivalent to saving 32 trees. Arizona State Credit Union appreciates all those who attended and contributed to creating a successful kickoff event.
"We would like to sincerely thank the Cottonwood community members who came to show their support at the Shred-A-Thon," said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. "Last year, the turnout at Prescott was outstanding so we are very hopeful that they will continue with the same enthusiasm."
Important documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Arizona State Credit Union will offer $100 to anyone who opens a checking account with direct deposit during any of the events.
