Arizona State Credit Union’s Shred-A-Thon Moves on to Prescott

Credit Union looks forward to another strong turnout from Prescott residents

PHOENIX, Ariz. Arizona State Credit Union’s Shred-A-Thon will head to Prescott on Tuesday, September 13, before completing the 2011 tour in Prescott Valley. The Credit Union is optimistic this will be a successful event as Prescott residents shredded and recycled a record-high 10,800 pounds of documents, or saved 54 trees, during the 2010 Shred-A-Thon.

“I am looking forward to Prescott’s event and hope they have another strong turnout this year,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “As this year’s Shred-A-Thon winds down, I look at past events and am proud of each community’s efforts in recycling and learning more about identity theft.”

The past two stops on the Shred-A-Thon tour were in Flagstaff, where residents shredded and recycled 3,920 pounds of documents. This equates to saving 19 trees, a sizeable contribution from the Flagstaff community.

This free event helps members of the community by raising awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.

Documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thons include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Arizona State Credit Union will offer $100 to anyone who opens a checking account with direct deposit during any of the events.

Shred-A-Thons will be hosted from 11 AM to 2 PM and are open to all members of the community. Below is a list of the remaining locations and dates:

Prescott Willow Creek Tuesday, September 13
Prescott Valley Tuesday, October 11
