Arizona State Credit Union Offers Innovative Scholarships to Benefit Credit Union Members

Phoenix, Ariz - Sixteen hard-working students and alumni from universities and colleges across Arizona received various scholarship awards from $1,000 to $5,000 each. For over 50 years, the Credit Union has offered scholarships to Arizona students, but 2008 marked the beginning of two new programs: the "Community Leaders Scholarship" and the "Loan Reduction Grant." The sixteen students and alumni receiving the awards represent a diverse and rich student population in Arizona including Arizona State University, University of Arizona, University of Phoenix and Yavapai College.

The "Community Leaders Scholarship" was structured to cover a broad base of students attending various universities, colleges and vocational schools in Arizona. The "Loan Reduction Grant" was created to provide financial support to Arizona graduates who have achieved academic excellence and now contribute to the community in which they live.

"We believe that one of the strongest assets we have in the community is a hard-working student or college graduate, because they represent the future of our state," said David E. Doss, President/CEO. "By supporting students from every educational institution in Arizona, we support the growth of Arizona and the future of our communities."
