Arizona State Credit Union Earns National Honors for Marketing and Branding

Arizona State Credit Union wins eleven National Awards for Marketing Campaigns, including the “Golden Shoestring” for Custom Construction Loans.

Phoenix, Ariz. –Arizona State Credit Union’s marketing efforts received multiple awards for the second consecutive year, including highest honors for a “shoestring budget” campaign using unique branch merchandising.

The Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) awarded Arizona State Credit Union one of its two highest honors, the “Golden Shoestring” award, for “outstanding creativity and results on a ‘shoestring’ budget.” The campaign promotes the Credit Union’s newly added Custom Construction loan program by printing key program highlights on wood blocks, carpenter pencils and large pieces of plywood supported by a sawhorse display in Credit Union branches.

“This Custom Construction Campaign gave us a unique opportunity to reach the right audience with the right medium,” said Paul Stull, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Using the actual pieces that would be used in custom construction itself provided a very strong impactful message. Our success on this campaign is due to innovation of the medium itself,” said Mr. Stull.

Arizona State Credit Union received three additional awards from CUES, including First Place for Corporate Headquarters Branding which recognizes the Credit Union for its consistent branding across all of its corporate facilities including associate workplaces.

Arizona State Credit Union also received high honors from two other industry associations. The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recognized Arizona State Credit Union with five honors in its Diamond Awards Competition, including top placement for a Home Loan Referral Program.

“The Diamond Awards recognize the best-of-the-best in credit union marketing, advertising, and business development,” said Anne Legg Council Chair and Vice President of Marketing for Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego, California. “It takes hard work, imagination, and perseverance to be selected as a Diamond Award winner from 1,300 entries.”

The Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) has also recognized Arizona State Credit Union this year with a Gold Award in Corporate Branding and a Silver Award for a Segmented Direct Mail program.
